The concept is simple. Most of us own several identities online (Facebook, Blog, Technorati, Amazon etc etc). They are all from the same, common source but each one will be specifically tailored to it's given purpose. We therefore operate a 'Distributed Identity'.
This concept can be expanded by looking at how these identities can be presented, navigated and aggregated.
Zoolit, for example, is a shareable Web page that lists all your personal sites. Great, but you could probably manage without it.
Marketing agency, Zeus Jones, puts a slightly different spin on aggregation with hot-links to specific, business related areas.
Further spinning and Paul Bradshaw cleverly uses a Google search results page to present his work. He has even managed to include a narrative to the page, albeit divisive.
Maximum spin now and the mild genius of Modernista! is an exercise in brevity. As their introduction alludes...
"Do not be alarmed.
You are viewing Modernista! through the eyes of the Web."
So, powerful and simple stuff. I am sure a company, with multiple brand branches, could find not a better model for spreading their delights on the web...

Distributed Identity
